This 24 contact-hour (8-week) online course will introduce the student to the many and varied land-based sectors of the maritime industry.
Participants will gain a broad understanding of how these links with the shipping side of the industry, and the support services provided will be studied together with the broad legal duties of the various sectors.
The course is designed as an introductory course to the Shipping and Marine Operations Sector.
Course Outcome:
At the end of this course, participants would have gained:
- Understanding of the roles of various onshore maritime-related occupations.
- Understanding of the relationship between shore maritime occupations and their marine-based counterparts.
- A personal insight into suitable roles for career progression.

Meet the facilitator:
Kimberly Ramoutar is a Maritime Professional with a deep connection to nature, which inspired her journey into the maritime industry. She holds a BSc in Nautical Science/Maritime Operations, an MSc in Operational Maritime Management from the University of Trinidad and Tobago and a PMP Certification. Kimberly currently supports the Chief Executive Officer of a leading manufacturing company. She has also functioned in the same capacity for the CEO of Ramps Logistics Limited, an Oil & Gas services company based in Trinidad & Tobago. Her career includes significant roles at Tsunami Marine Limited and the Ministry of Transport in Trinidad.
